Riga Paris Design - October 2010

Continuation of the workshop between École Boulle & Art Academy of Latvia

From October 11 to 15, Paris hosted the second phase of the workshop between Art Academy of Latvia and École Boulle, dedicated to the design of the interior spaces of a mid-realistic mid-utopian hotel, imagined by 32 students in 5 days !

This project was first of all a great occasion for french and latvian students to work again together, crossing skills from Design Department of Art Academy of Latvia and DSAA Architecture intérieure from École Boulle. The work consisted in making big vertical sections in order to unify each team project to the others inside a great indoors common space.

It was not always easy, especially when students had to imagine the space in deepness and not only more in vertical section. They had to put all together their different projects in order to design one unified space. The students were very involved and never gave up in spite of many difficulties. The result is a great experience of cultural cooperation and of learning the project methodology in teams and in english.

This workshop week ended with an exhibition in École Boulle, designed by the students themselves, and with the visit of the new director of École Boulle, M. Christophe Hespel, and the new latvian ambassador in France, Mrs Sanita Pavluta-Deslandes.
